These terms cover your use of the Key Dudes website, keydudesla.com, and how our quotes work. They are a plain-language summary, not a contract for any particular job. Each job is agreed on the phone, and you get an invoice when the work is done.
Who we are
Key Dudes is a mobile automotive locksmith serving the Santa Clarita Valley, California. We are licensed by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), license LCO 8755, and insured. You can verify the license on the BSIS lookup.
Quotes
We quote on the phone before we dispatch. The quote is for the job as it was described to us, so it depends on the details you give us: your vehicle, the key type, and whether any working key is left. If we find at the car that a detail was different, incomplete or not accurate, we will explain what we found and give you a revised price before any work starts, and you can accept it or decline it. If you decline, no service or travel charge applies, except on after-hours emergency calls. Calls outside the Santa Clarita Valley add a flat +$75 travel charge, which is stated in the quote. Our hours are 9am–7pm, seven days. After hours we take emergency calls at emergency rates, quoted up front like any other job.
Proving the car is yours
We open a car or make a key only for its owner or someone the owner has authorized. We ask for photo ID that matches the registration, the registration or title, and the VIN. If we can’t confirm ownership, we can’t do the work.

The website gives general information about our services. Descriptions of what we can do on particular makes and models are a guide: we confirm the details of your job when we quote it. Dealer price ranges shown on our make pages are estimates from published pricing and owner reports, not offers from any dealer, and your dealer will quote your own VIN.
